Homemade Play-dough

My son’s class is making a replica of Egypt and for his homework this past weekend, they were required to make play dough. They were asked to bring in a pretty decent size amount, and will be working on the replica this week in class.

It was super simple & quick to make, so I figured I share the recipe with you all! It’s definitely a fun activity to do with the kids, and it’s super inexpensive as well!

What You’ll Need:

6 cups of flour

6 cups of salt

2-3 cups of water

Food coloring for fun

Most of these items can be found right in your pantry, which is awesome!

Mix the dry ingredients together. Add 2 cups of water until the dough forms pretty consistently. You may need to slowly add water to the mixture until you get the perfect consistency.

Mix it up, and prepare for the fun part…. adding color! My kiddos were super excited about the blue food coloring we used!

I would recommend using gloves if you don’t want your hands to get dirty or stain, although the food coloring does wash off with warm water and lots of soap.

After mixing the color in thoroughly, place your fresh home made play dough in a ziplock or Tupperware so it doesn’t dry out, and tadaaaa… that’s it! Super simple right ? And you don’t have to break the bank to make it! Double winning!

Enjoy!

Xoxo,

Heaven
